Site-Specific Drawings

A renovation or new construction project involves many professionals – architects, engineers, contractors, etc.. To ensure a smooth installation and reliable operation of SteelcoBelimed equipment, it’s crucial that everyone understands the scope of work.

We provide site-specific installation drawings using Autodesk Revit, giving all parties the details they need to plan, price, and schedule effectively while avoiding surprises or scope creep. Our drawings clearly show utility requirements and connection sizes, ensuring proper infrastructure and utility sizing from the start.

This collaborative, transparent approach helps deliver projects on time and aligned with expectations, supporting long-term performance and reliability.

Space Planning & Workflow Design

There’s no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” SPD. Every project has unique needs.

We know how crucial it is to assess all key factors early in planning to ensure an efficient, compliant design. Proper space programming and smooth workflows, from soiled staging to sterile storage, are essential to success.

Whether it’s new construction or renovation, our team works closely with end-users to evaluate spaces and provide tailored recommendations that meet all regulatory requirements. With our expertise, we help design SPDs that optimize performance, support staff, and ensure safe, effective sterile processing for every facility.

BIM and 3D Visualization

To better visualize how your future SPD will look like, we offer LOD 500 Building Information Modeling (BIM) models and live 3D walk-throughs.

These models, especially the BIM one, allow both the architect and engineer to understand the spatial and utility requirements of the SPD equipment. They can be connected to the complex mechanical design of the hospital to ensure a positive outcome.
Using the embedded utility connections, engineers can virtually connect the SteelcoBelimed equipment to their complex mechanical, electrical, or plumbing design to create a complete 3D building system.

3D design is useful for other professionals: through a universal QR-code they control the view of their future department in 3D with a 360° view and can even walk through the department before they even break ground. That’s a great way to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Site Assessments

A site assessment is an exploration into your processes, demands, and goals. It can be either virtual or on-site and its goal is to let engineers study and understand your SPD’s complex system before making recommendations.

It can take 1-2 days on-site for deep-dives or a few hours with a questionnaire. Focus is on:

  • Equipment throughput (capacities and cycle times)
  • Incoming Demand (surgical volume, specialties, ancillary departments, etc.)
  • Process times (manual steps such as pick-up/drop-off, decontamination, assembly, and inspection)
  • Staffing (often overlooked, the staff is the heart of the SPD, without staff the department cannot function)

This assessment, combined with our proprietary capacity analysis tool, provides a detailed outline of capital expenditure within a SPD over the next 5 to 10 years–from immediate need to a long-term watch list. Our plans allow your SPD to minimize operational risk and maximize spending within the department.
