The VS L Series of bulk capacity steam sterilizers is designed for laboratory applications, including research laboratories, bio-containment, and animal care facilities. Up to 11 standard chamber sizes with a volume from 920 to 9,070 litres are available with pressure vessel and relief valves that are PED and/or ASME marked or according to the Directives of the country of destination.
VS L sterilizers are engineered to offer best-in-class solutions to reduce energy and water consumption to give users the lowest operating costs per load. ECO water-saving options provide unrivaled efficiency levels, reducing water consumption to nearly zero depending on the chosen model and options.
All our VS L steam sterilizers feature high-quality AISI 316L stainless steel pressure vessels. Pressure vessels are full-jacket double-wall designed and their chamber’s cross section is rectangular. Sterilizers are available in single or double door configurations with manual hinged (available for some models only) or automatic horizontal sliding. Controlled by commonly available industrial grade PLC digital controllers with color touch-screen HMI.
Flexible configuration
Single or double (pass-through) door with manual hinged or automatic space-saving sliding activation. The electrical cabinet can be integrated within the skid of the unit or remotely installed. The technical area can be on the right or left side; alternatively, it can be shared in the case of “in-line” installation of a pair of machines.
High quality material
AISI 316L stainless steel chamber with high-efficiency heat-transfer full jacket system for even heat distribution. Doors internally made of AISI 316L stainless steel with no welding. Heat insulation with durable reusable cover for fast service maintenance at a lower cost.
Barrier solutions
In BSL laboratory applications steam sterilizers play a key role as part of the building containment system. Double door sterilizers act as a pass-through between hot and cold zones (or sterile and non-sterile zones) and must be sealed to the wall to form a cross contamination barrier. We offer different biocontainment barrier solutions:
- Air differential seal – This solution provides a solid AISI 304 stainless-steel flange bolted to the sterilizer body, and stainless-steel panels inserted between the flange and the building structure such as ceiling, floor and walls. All panels are tightly fitted to their adjoining surfaces with seams filled with silicone.
- Bioseal – This solution includes two stainless-steel 304 flanges – one fixed or welded to the chamber and a second one fixed to the building structure. Flanges are connected via long-life flexible gasket to ensure the complete airtightness.
Effluent decontamination feature
This feature is used for processing contaminated items like biohazardous laboratory waste (BSL-3 and BSL-4). To prevent harmful pathogens and viruses from exiting the sterilization chamber during the exhaust and vacuum phases, the condensate produced during the processing cycle is decontaminated before discharge to the drain. The drain is controlled by an hydrophobic 0.2 μm (8μ inch) filter and both filter and condensate are sterilized during the cycle. To increase the safety of the decontamination cycle a second hydrophobic filter can positioned on the drain line. As alternative, an incineration systems can be installed for a thermal deactivation of germs, bacteria, virus, spores and survival forms.
