One-Time Connection System (OCS)

The One-Time Connection System (OCS) is yet another step forward to ensure that endoscope reprocessing is fast, error-proof, and, most importantly, with a minimum risk of cross-contamination. When developing a new device for our endoscopy solutions, we follow an all-inclusive approach focusing on efficiency, safety, and infection control.

The OCS technology is a one-time connection system shared between pre-cleaning, washing/disinfection, and drying/storage devices. It allows connecting endoscopes channels with one gesture, minimizing operators’ manipulation of endoscopes in all the phases of the process, significantly decreasing the risk of cross-contamination and the possibility of human errors. This fast, ergonomic, and user-friendly technology allows one-time endoscope handling and channel connection, simultaneously ensuring three times faster connectivity.

Cleaning lumened surgical instruments is challenging, primarily due to their intricate design and exposure to biological debris during use, which can hinder sterilization effectiveness.

The OCS technology is not a standard instrument as it does not come in contact with patients, yet it is used to clean endoscopes, thus entering into contact with debris and presenting the same sterilization challenges lumened instruments and endoscopes face.

We created a dedicated sterilization cycle in the PL Series of low-temperature sterilizers, specifically validated for the OCS technology.
