Workers’ Safety

To ensure our working environment is safe and healthy, we promote and create a positive culture that can help reduce the number of work-related injuries.

We recently started to apply a new method: Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) protocol.
This proactive approach aims at increasing safe behavior in an area. It is based on solid principles about engaging, motivating, assisting, reinforcing, and sustaining safe behaviors.

Thanks to BBS protocol we are increasing our colleagues’ safe behaviors, awareness, and involvement, heading to almost-zero injuries in our production sites.

We guarantee our employees the highest health and safety standards, thanks to the application of certified management systems and constant improvement through the analysis of risk factors.

Health

Employee health is a key pillar of our welfare approach. We provide supplementary health insurance to support access to high-quality medical care, complemented by partnerships with local pharmacies and healthcare facilities. These agreements offer practical benefits and easier access to services, helping employees protect their health and well-being both at work and in daily life.

Temperature

To address increasingly extreme weather conditions, we have improved climate control in our production plants by installing air-conditioning and heating systems in most of our Italian production facilities, alongside offices and canteen areas. In Slovenian facilities, roof shading and automated night-time ventilation reduce heat impact. Powered by solar energy, these solutions enhance comfort, productivity, and energy efficiency while reducing reliance on natural gas.

Silence

Creating a safer and more comfortable working environment also means reducing noise exposure. We have installed sound-absorbing wall coverings in the welding area and dedicated noise-reduction cabins in the grinding room. These measures significantly lower noise levels, improving concentration, safety, and overall well-being for employees working in high-noise production areas.

Human Rights

Miele responsibility towards employees, the environment and society is fostered through social standards compliance, human rights strengthening, and relevant violations prevention. Miele suppliers’ are required to comply with various criteria, among which human and employee rights, environmental protection, ethical business practices and corporate integrity.

As part of the Miele Group, SteelcoBelimed extends the same principles and requirements to its supply chain structures. Employees, on the other hand, are encouraged to report presumed breaches of this policy statement via existing complaints channels.

Ethical Code & Model of Organisation, Management and Control
