Low Temperature Vaporized H2O2 Sterilizers - Benchtop
PL 40 is a benchtop Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizer (HPS). With a chamber volume of 52 litres / 1.84 cu ft, its reduced footprint makes it the ideal solution for small endoscopy clinics and departments.
The device is designed for terminal sterilization of critical, delicate, moist and heat-sensitive medical devices used for endoscopy treatments. It employs vaporized hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to treat instruments with a maximum length of up to 2200 mm / 86.62″, a minimum diameter of up to 0,5 mm / 0.02″, and with up to three channels. Typical reprocessed endoscopes are those used in urology, gynaecology, pulmonology, and ENT. More instruments are also included, among which is the One-time Connection System (OCS) technology.
Vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization with SteelcoPro PL sterilant is safe, fast, and environmentally friendly – operating with low pressure and low temperature for protecting endoscopes and reducing energy consumption.
With a manual hinged door, PL 40 is also available with its dedicated cabinet for a free-standing configuration. The device features a PLC digital microprocessor with a 7″ color touch screen HMI. The models of the PL Series are all Plug & Play, ready to be started quickly in any location.

High Performance
Five high-performance work cycles are programmed at the factory, validated, and available for running from the control panel:
- Fast | Dedicated to non-lumened instruments with and without articulations;
- Flex | For flexible endoscopes;
- Standard | For mixed loads: flexible, rigid, and semi-rigid lumened and non-lumened instruments;
- Intensive | For mixed loads: flexible, rigid, and semi-rigid lumened and non-lumened instruments with more challenging dimensions;
- Superfast | Ultra-fast cycle for reduced loads that can be activated on all models of the PL range upon request.
Chemicals and Packing Material
The single-use cartridge (two cycles) avoids any waste due to the short expiry time of the sterilant after loading in the machine. The cartridge is equipped with an RFID identifier providing information on production batch, expiry date, and H2O2 quantity. It prevents the cartridge’s reuse, incorrect re-filling, or use after the expiry date. Ergonomic front-loading cartridge system with “poka-yoke” design, which totally avoids operators’ mistakes.
Process Quality Focus
To ensure efficiency and safety in the sterilization process, the PL Series has a wide selection of features, among which are:
- a dedicated humidity check to control the humidity level and remove excess moisture;
- redundant sensors to monitor chamber pressure and temperature in real time, thus ensuring optimal performance;
- an external plasma generator system to better protect both the instruments and the environment.
Biological & Chemical Indicators
For assuring a safe sterilization process, we provide a comprehensive assortment of chemical and biological indicators, including rapid-read solutions and their associated incubators.
Rapid Read Incubator features a dedicated traceability software as standard, with the aim of recording all the results of self-contained biological indicators (SCBIs) with fluorescence readout. The system also allows a completely automatic traceability procedure through digitalization solutions or a manual one to meet all customer requirements.
Packing tape is also available with a chemical indicator to ensure H2O2 correctly entered in contact with the load.
Control System and Traceability
The large 7″ touch-screen control panel displays bright, easy-to-read information. It offers an intuitive and practical aid for operators in their daily tasks.
An integrated thermal printer provides cycle data storage. If connected to the network, the sterilizer can be easily integrated with our digital traceability solutions.
Traceability also includes process indicators for the correct release of the load.

Small Footprint
PL 40 has the most compact footprint on the market in relation to the load capacity. Its features, benefits, and performances are similar to those of the larger capacity PL models.
Excellent Penetration
Excellent penetration into hollow instruments. Lumens with minimum Ø 0.5 mm and maximum length 2200 mm, with single, double, and triple channels.
Standing Cabinet
Designed as a bench-top device, it can be optionally configured with an ergonomic standing cabinet on lockable wheels, conveniently equipped with storage.
Patients and Instruments Care
Sterilization efficacy and care for the most delicate instruments are perfectly balanced. The PL Series sterilizes at a temperature of 50-55°C / 122-131°F by using 4 separate steps during the process.
Environment and Operators Care
Hydrogen Peroxide emissions are up to 70 times lower than the most restrictive worldwide guidelines. Thanks to a triple safety system, H2O2 release is reduced to almost zero.
RFID or Barcode Recognition
A barcode or RFID scanner is available as an option. It ensures an easy and quick recognition of both operator and load.
